September means new routines, fresh goals, and serious momentum. From our Luau Potluck and Back to School Bash to Competition Team tryouts, leadership training, and Fall Belt Testing, this month is built to help every student refocus and level up.  IMPORTANT DATES, EVENTS, AND HOLIDAYS

September 1 – Labor Day
Closed in observance of the holiday.

September 5 │ 6–8 PM – Luau Potluck Party & Back to School Bash
We’re closing out summer and kicking off the school year—ninja style! Join us for games, challenges, and community fun while enjoying a festive luau potluck. Bring a dish to share, wear your island gear, and celebrate together before we dive into fall training.

September 12 │ 6 PM –  Competition Team and Leadership & Instructor Development Program Tryouts
Ready for the next step? Showcase your skills, attitude, and coachability. (Leadership invitations will be handed out the following week)

Sparring Gear Inspections (All September)
Safety first. Bring full gear for checks: gloves, headgear, mouthguard, shin/instep, groin protector (as applicable). Keep equipment clean and in good condition.

September 13 │ 5–8 PM – Parents’ Night Out
Drop the kids for a night of games, drills, and pizza—enjoy your evening out. Spots go fast!

September 20 │ 10 AM–12 PM – Leadership & Instructor Development Training
Skill sharpening for our leadership track: communication, demo presence, and teaching basics.

September 20 │ 10 AM–12 PM – Open House
Invite a friend to see what XN is all about—live demos, meet-the-coaches, and trial info.

September 27 – Fall Karate Belt Test
Bring your best focus, etiquette, and effort. Check with your instructor on readiness, times, and uniform requirements.

September 29 to October 26 – Lean for Halloween Challenge

Four weeks of accountability, nutrition tips, and training goals. Details coming soon—get ready to dial in before the holidays.

Kick Off the School Year with a Fun Martial Arts Open House!

We’re excited to invite you to a special Open House event at Xtreme Ninja Martial Arts Center on Saturday, September 20th! As we kick off the new school year, there’s no better time to discover the benefits of martial arts for your child.

Whether they’re ages 3-6 or 7-14, our martial arts program offers a unique blend of fun, fitness, and life skills that will set your child up for success. From boosting their confidence to improving focus and discipline, martial arts can help your child excel both in school and in life.

Event Details:

• Date: Saturday, September 20th
• Time: 10:00 AM (Ages 3-6) & 12:00 PM (Ages 7-14)
• Location: Xtreme Ninja Martial Arts Center

This event is a fantastic opportunity for your child to try out our classes, meet our instructors, and make new friends. Plus, we’ll have some exciting activities planned to keep them engaged and entertained.

  HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHT:

Basic Dojo Rules & Etiquette

A respectful dojo is a productive dojo. Please review with your student:

• Before class: Watch our safety video for entering the dojo. 

• Shoes & bowing: Remove street shoes before the mats; bow when entering/leaving the training area.

• Titles: Address instructors as “Shihan Nguyen,” “Sensei,” “Arjarn Nguyen” (Muay Thai), “Coach,” “Mr./Mrs.,” “Sir/Ma’am.”

• Rank questions: Do not ask about test dates, show patience and trust your instructor’s judgment.

• Language & conduct: No foul language, drugs/alcohol, or gum. Spectators, keep lobby noise low.

• Late arrivals: Bow and wait for instructor permission to enter.

• Sparring: Only with instructor supervision and full safety gear.

• Appearance & care: Clean uniform, clean up your area and leave it better than you found it.

• Equipment use: Instructor permission required for bags, weapons, and gear.

• Supplies: All uniforms and training equipment must be purchased through Xtreme Ninja.

Luau Potluck Party & Back to School Bash 

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in our Summer Bingo Challenge! 👏 It’s been amazing to see members pushing themselves, trying new classes, and sharing their progress along the way. The challenge officially wrapped up end of August, and we couldn’t be more proud of the energy and commitment you all showed this summer. 

Now it’s time to celebrate together! 🎉
Join us for our Luau Potluck Party & Back to School Bash on Friday, September 5th from 6–8 PM. Bring your favorite dish to share, enjoy some fun community time, and let’s close out summer on a high note. 🌺🍍 Winners for summer challenge raffles will be drawn and announced at the party too!

We hope to see everyone there — it’s the perfect chance to connect outside of class and enjoy the hard work you’ve all put in this season!

 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Both have been crushing it in our Summer Bingo Challenge – not only showing up consistently, but also sharing their journey and inspiring others along the way.

What stood out most to the coaches is how Julie and Stephanie both went beyond their comfort zones and stepped into a Muay Thai session! Hitting pads in Muay Thai is a whole different experience compared to kickboxing bags – but they both rose to the challenge and absolutely crushed it.
