What is Yoga?
Yoga, meaning "union" in Sanskrit, is a practice of physical postures, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation techniques designed to create balance in the body, mind and spirit.  Though it started in India over 5000 years ago, people around the world continue to practice it today, proof that this balanced approach to life helps create health and vitality.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Kripalu Style Yoga
Through mindful breath and movement, you can bring life into your body and energize your spirit.  In each class, you will be guided through breath-work, postures, brief meditation and relaxation.  Safety is one of Emilie's main priorities since you only have one body and one mind.  She emphasizes posture modifications so that you can get the full benefits of the posture while expressing it in a way that is healthy for your body.  At the end of every class, there is a period of guided relaxation.  This is an important time for the body and mind to reap the full benefits of the postures and breath-work.

Little Warriors
Children are naturally radiant, aware, & full of innocent wisdom.  The deeper purpose of teaching children yoga is to help them maintain their natural wisdom and radiance; or if their light has been dulled by events in their lives, to help them regain their inherent state of being.  Emphasis is on fun and experiencing wisdom through movement, breath, and imagination!

Anna Nguyen
Anna was first introduced to yoga and meditation by her mother, Dawn, when she was young.  She studied meditation and Shambala training at Karme-Choling in Barnet, VT with teachers H. E. Jetsun Kushack, Allen Ginsberg,  and Dr. Jeremy Hayward.  Then for several years Anna stepped away from her practice, until she took an emotionally charged yoga class with Roman Szpond.  Realizing how powerful yoga and meditaiton could be she returned to her practice and propelled forward on her yogic journey.  In 2006 Anna moved to Arizona where she opened and managed a lululemon athletica showroom.  This allowed a great opportunity to broaden and deepen her practice and study under some amazing instructors including Eoin Finn, Mimi Solaire, Sumit Banerjee, Yogi E, Ali Kamen, John Salisbury, and many more.  In 2008 Anna became pregnant and had a daughter.  During pregnancy she turned more and more to the powerful healing and calming effects of yoga and meditation.  Never before had the physical benefits of yoga been so clear as during pregnancy and childbirth.  In fact, Anna credits yoga and meditation for having been able to give birth naturally without any interventions or medications.  It was during this time of continuous physical and emotional change that Anna knew she wanted to teach and share the gift of yoga with others and especially children.  In 2010 she moved back to the Boston area where she opened a dojo and studio with her husband.  Then she completed her Radiant Child Yoga Teacher Training under the instruction of the passionate and vibrant Checka Antifonario.  Anna has seen first hand how yoga and meditation can transform, energize, and strengthen life.  It is her goal to share this with others and especially children so they can benefit from having such powerful tools early in life.  Anna is also a certified Reiki practitioner.
